Rubber band ligation is the most effective nonoperative (without incision or excision) treatment for internal hemorrhoids. Today, nonsurgical methods are an alternative to surgical ones. Band ligation of internal hemorrhoids is a well-established and accepted office procedure.The band causes the hemorrhoid to wither and drop off painlessly. The treatment is usually applied to one hemorrhoid at a time at intervals of 1 weeks or longer. Used only for Internal hemorrhoids.
